Science Experiment to show that water is conducted through stem
Experiment to show that water is conducted through stem
(1) Take white flower and take a glass jar and fill it with water.
(2) Add few drops of red colour in it and stir it well.
(3) Now take a stem from a plant with flower.
(4) Put the flower in the jar filled with red colour water.
(5) Leave it for overnight.
(6) What do you observe in the morning?
(7) The white flower and the veins of the leave have turned into red colour.
(8) What has actually happened?
(9) The red coloured water has travelled up the stem into leaves and flowers through the xylems.
(10) The xylems help plants transport water and minerals from root to different parts of the plant.
So, we conclude that water is conducted to leaves and flower through stem.
